Gasgoo Munich- On Sept. 21, Xie Shiqi, a head of SAIC Audi, posted on the AUDI App to clarify recent online rumors claiming Audi's German headquarters is blocking AUDI models from entering the German market.

Xie explicitly stated that certain reports quoting an Audi spokesperson in foreign media were taken out of context. The statement actually addressed the scope of after-sales service for unofficially imported AUDI vehicles, aiming to clarify that Audi cannot offer service support for parallel imports because they are treated as third-party vehicles abroad — not a sign of disapproval toward the AUDI brand itself.

The incident originated when German importer Auto China parallel-imported two China-exclusive AUDI models — the E5 Sportback and E7X — into Germany. Audi headquarters subsequently launched legal action against the importer. The company noted these cars were exported via unauthorized channels, meaning authorized Audi dealers outside China cannot service them.
Xie emphasized that Audi's global headquarters fully embraces the AUDI brand, regarding it as a core pillar of its shift toward electrification and intelligent technology. Audi CEO Gernot Döllner has repeatedly participated in AUDI-related events, and the E5 Sportback was showcased alongside Audi's F1 car at the Ingolstadt headquarters. In response to these distorted claims, SAIC Audi said it will collect evidence and pursue legal measures. Separately, Xie revealed plans to host the first AUDI Day owner event this November.
