The dispute stemmed from partial fulfillment issues during contract execution. It involved specific details between the battery supplier and the client. VREMT filed suit with the Ningbo Intermediate People's Court in Zhejiang Province in December 2025. It seeks more than 2.3 billion yuan in damages and related payments.
Under the settlement, costs will be determined based on actual figures. The deal is expected to reduce SEVB's 2025 net profit attributable to shareholders by 500 million to 800 million yuan. This estimate factors in accrued warranty provisions, the realizable value of affected battery packs, and potential future expenses.
The settlement stipulates that if national authorities require a vehicle recall, both parties must cooperate. They will actively fulfill legal obligations and implement necessary measures.
As key players in the new energy vehicle ecosystem, both companies emphasized the importance of resolving the dispute. This is vital for protecting legal rights and supporting industry development and value chain synergy.
SEVB reiterated that it prioritizes user interests alongside its partners, working to ensure the continuity and stability of related products and services. The settlement resolves business disputes while maximizing consumer protection and aligning with the broader health of the sector. Moving forward, the company said it will join partners to build a more interconnected industrial ecosystem and contribute to the steady growth of the new energy vehicle supply chain.
