Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 6) - A slew of import models have been targeted for recalls in May by China's consumer watchdog, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. According to a report appearing in the Beijing Morning Post today, Ferrari has recalled a total of 56 cars in the country since May 24. The recall was called due to concerns that the construction of their engine crankshafts did not meet standards and the existence of debris in the engine lubrication circuits.

Not long ago, Honda and Renault both announced recalls in the country. Honda recalled 537 2007 model year Acura TLs due to problems with their steering oil tubes. The issue, which affects Acuras manufactured between May 2006 and January 2007, becomes apparent when engine cabin temperature is relatively high, which may make steering difficult. Meanwhile, Renault's Scénic II (pictured below) has been targeted for a problem where the dashboard will display only a black screen, making it impossible to view vital driving information. According to statistics, the issue has affected 1,272 vehicles in China. The Renault Mégane II has also been recalled due to faulty airbags.
