Shanghai GM Wuling's Guangxi car production base nears completion

China Daily - SAIC GM Wuling Automobile (SGMW), a joint venture between General Motors, SAIC Motor and Liuzhou Wuling Motors, will begin operation of its Liudong passenger car production base on Nov 18. The base is estimated to have an annual output of 400,000 units.

Liuzhou Municipal Party Committee Secretary Chen Gang said Liudong district should step up infrastructure construction of roads, electricity and water.

Beginning Nov 18, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region government will launch a variety of projects, including an entry-exit vehicle lab, automobile academy and overseas Chinese town. SGMW's new base and the Yinhai aluminum project will also be completed at that time.
