Shanghai VW to display 10 hot models at Beijing show

Shanghai, April 16 (Gasgoo.com) VolksWagen AG will participate in the Beijing Auto Show on an unprecedented scale later this month, in particular the joint venture Shanghai Volkswagen. It said the company's exhibits will include the Tiguan, the new Passat Lingyu, the new Touran, the Lavida, the Cross POLO, the POLO Sporty, and other top selling models of totally 10.


Tiguan

The Shanghai Volkswagen Design Center and the VolksWagen German Design Headquarters co-designed the Tiguan car for the Beijing show, having made further improvement in the car's appearance, power, comfort and other aspects. In addition, the Tiguan car is equipped with the world-advanced TSI turbocharged direct injection engines, 6-speed Tiptronic gearbox, 4 MOTION intelligent all-wheel-drive system, etc.


Lavida Sport

The Lavida Sport uses the cutting-edge VolksWagen 1.4TSI engine, which makes accelerating more easily with smoother output power, and shift more smoothly together with the DSG (dual-clutch gearbox).


New Touran

As the same platform vehicle, the new Touran mimics the golf design style. Its front face is very similar with golf and has small change in the body, while its waistline near the rear has been lifted a bit. On the contrary, the new Touran's rear part has been greatly changed, with taillights redesigned and the license box depressed inward, which makes it look more solid.

The new Touran will also use VolksWagen's new 1.2TSI engine and other engines like the 168-hp 1.4TSI engine. As to the diesel engines, there are two versions of the 1.6TDI engines which have an output of 89 hp and of 104 hp respectively, while the 2.0TDI engines have the 138 hp and 168 hp versions.


Cross Polo

The Cross Polo has the manual standard and the automatic standard models which will be priced at 106,000 yuan ($15,000) and 110,000 yuan respectively. The two models all use Polo's 1.6L engine.
