The digital car key is an integrated terminal-to-cloud solution, taking the form as a WeChat mini program without the need to download any application. Upon registration and pairing, users can use their smartphones to lock/unlock car doors, ignite vehicles, remotely control the cars, checking up vehicle status, and share their keys via the mini program.
Leveraging the robust ecosystem of WeChat, users of the digital car key can share their car key authorizations with WeChat friends with a click on the phone, allowing authorized users to perform certain controls over corresponding vehicles.
Moreover, with WeChat’s feature of immediate alerts, users will get timely push notifications under the occurrence of abnormal activity regarding their vehicles. Users can then check their vehicle status and remotely close the car windows and such via the mini program.
In addition, Tencent and INGEEK also plan to explore more service possibilities of the digital car key program, such as test drive reservations, valet power replenishment service, valet vehicle maintenance, etc.
