Gasgoo.com (Shanghai October 29) – After the statement of “the growth of automobile sales will be as slow as 8.3% this year” in September, the sectary general of China Automobile Industry Association, Mr. Dong, predicted the growth will decline to 7%, which means the growth will be halved compared to the data of last year.
The data shows the sales volume of Chinese automobile market in 2013 is 21,984,100, increasing by 13.87% on year-on-year basis. 17,928,900 and 15.71% for passenger car and 4,055,200 and 6.4% for commercial vehicle. The data from China Automobile Industry Association shows the production and sales volumes are 17,225,900 and 17,000,900, increasing by 8.1% and 7% on year-on-year basis. The growths decline by 4.7% and 5.7% on year-on-year basis.
The main reason for slow growth is sales decline of commercial vehicles. The data shows the production and sales volume in first 9 months are 2,839,700 and 2,845,400, declining by 5.7% and 6.2%. The influence of macro economy and development of railway lead to slow growth of bus market and truck market is influenced by discharge upgrading and less demand from real estate industry. The production and sales growths of bus are 6.8% and 8% and truck market declines by 7.7% and 8.4%.
Besides commercial vehicles, the production and sales data in first 9 months are 14,386,200 and 14,155,500, increasing by 11.3% and 10.2%. The growth is less than 2013 by 2.4% and 3.8%.
Mr. Cui, the vice sectary general of passenger car association, said the immediate cause should be the influence of macro economy. And periodic trends are also reflected. According to Mr. Cui, it is common for slow growth after keeping increasing by high speed for several years. The performance of automobile market structure is obvious. German and American brands keep increasing rapidly and French brands also increases by putting new models into market. Japanese brands are still in recovery phrase and self-owned brands just stopped declining for 12 months in September.
