Gasgoo Munich-SAIC Volkswagen’s new general manager, Wu Yun, has signed off on a sweeping reshuffle of middle management. The personnel moves — covering marketing, product, production planning, finance control, and supply chain — affect 20 positions in total. Of these, 16 are acting appointments, three involve executives stepping down for new roles, and one relieves an official of a concurrent post. The appointments take effect on September 2, 2026.

The shake-up within the sales system is drawing the most industry attention. Chen Feng, formerly general manager of the Volkswagen brand’s East China marketing region, is now acting deputy manager of the marketing business department while also serving as sales department manager. Yu Wei, the former sales department manager, has moved to become acting manager of the high-end vehicle GTM department. Xu Jinjin, previously the high-end GTM manager, takes over as acting general manager of the East China marketing region.
The goal of this sales rotation is to close the loop between headquarters’ sales policies, high-end model strategies, and regional execution — effectively tearing down departmental silos.
The product system is undergoing a similar rotation. Chen Li moves from marketing department manager to become acting manager of product definition. Shao Chunhui, the former product definition manager, transitions to acting manager of mainstream model product strategy. Meanwhile, Hu Yiren has been named acting manager of Volkswagen brand marketing.
The logic behind these adjustments is clear: get those familiar with the frontline market involved in product definition, and have product development experts think about market strategy. This approach front-loads user needs directly into the vehicle development phase.
Notably, the vast majority of these appointments are labeled "acting" rather than permanent. This acting model provides flexibility for future assessments and formal placements. It allows for a rapid organizational restructure to prepare for new product launches in the fourth quarter, while also leaving room for correction. It is an organizational experiment by SAIC Volkswagen as it navigates intense market pressure.
As of now, SAIC Volkswagen has not officially disclosed the details of this middle-management reshuffle to the public.
