The announcement signals Xiaomi's continued focus on improving vehicle dynamics and driver engagement as the company expands its presence in the electric vehicle market.

According to Lei Jun, the Jiaolong chassis is engineered to deliver a precise and stable driving experience by combining high-grade mechanical components with advanced system integration. On the hardware side, the setup features a double-wishbone front suspension paired with a five-link rear independent suspension. The system is also equipped with closed dual-chamber air springs, continuously variable damping shock absorbers, four-piston fixed front brake calipers, and wide rear tires measuring 265 mm, all designed to improve handling and stability.

Beyond mechanical components, Xiaomi emphasized the integration of software-driven chassis control technologies. The system incorporates a suite of features aimed at improving stability and ride comfort across different driving conditions, including coordinated traction control, a dedicated slippery-road mode, AI-based monitoring of low-grip surfaces, and predictive chassis adjustments capable of preparing the suspension for upcoming road conditions. A ride-comfort mode designed to reduce motion sickness has also been introduced.

In addition, Xiaomi engineers conducted extensive tuning of braking response, steering calibration, and suspension behavior to deliver a more refined driving feel.

On the same day, Xiaomi EV announced that Chinese sprinter Su Bingtian has been appointed as the brand ambassador for its vehicle lineup. According to the company, Su is also an early owner of the first-generation SU7 and has expressed strong confidence in the vehicle during everyday use, which helped shape the partnership.

Earlier, on March 16, Xiaomi EV confirmed that the next-generation SU7 will officially hit the market on March 19. Lei Jun noted that the updated model represents roughly two years of refinement built on the original vehicle platform. Improvements are expected across several areas, including safety, driving performance, intelligent features, and interior quality.

With the SU7 already regarded as a milestone product for Xiaomi's entry into the automotive sector, the company is positioning the upcoming model as a major step toward sustaining the sedan's long-term success in the increasingly competitive EV market.
