Gasgoo Munich- Yueda Kia sold 25,032 vehicles in July 2026, an increase of 24.9% year over year and its fourth consecutive month above the 20,000-unit mark. Sales for the first seven months of the year reached 143,146 vehicles.

The sustained increase provides fresh momentum for the Sino-Korean joint venture as established foreign automakers face intensifying competition from domestic brands in China.

Alongside the sales results, Yueda Kia is preparing to expand its SUV offering. The automaker released a teaser for the all-new Seltos on July 28, confirming that the compact SUV will open for pre-sales in China on August 13. Vehicles have already begun arriving at dealerships nationwide.

Introduced in 2019, the Seltos has become one of Kia's core global models. Worldwide sales totaled approximately 300,000 units in 2025 and exceeded 177,000 vehicles in the first half of 2026.

The second-generation model for China follows Kia's global manufacturing standards while incorporating market-specific adjustments to its design, technology, infotainment and driving characteristics. The update is intended to strengthen Yueda Kia's presence in China's highly competitive compact SUV segment, where connected features and cabin technology have become increasingly important purchasing considerations.

Two gasoline powertrains will be available. The higher-output version combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission, producing 200 metric horsepower and 253 Nm of peak torque. Yueda Kia says it is the only model in its class to offer an eight-speed automatic, positioning the variant toward customers seeking stronger performance without moving to an electrified powertrain.

The entry-level model pairs a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine with Kia's Intelligent Variable Transmission. It develops 115 metric horsepower and 144 Nm, with claimed combined fuel consumption of 6.54 liters per 100 km.

Drivers can select from Eco, Normal, Sport and Smart driving modes, along with Snow, Mud and Sand traction settings. The broader range of powertrain and terrain configurations is designed to give the Seltos appeal as both an everyday family vehicle and a more versatile recreational SUV when pre-sales begin on August 13.
