BYD launches Ocean network with two product series at Auto Guangzhou 2021

Guangzhou (Gasgoo)- BYD Company officially launched its “Ocean” network and the first sedan model from the network made debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2021.

The “Ocean” network, a comprehensive sales network, is the company’s latest exploration in new energy passenger vehicle segment, according to the automaker.

Thanks to its technology advantages in new energy vehicle segment, the Ocean will be upgraded into two product series, the battery electric marine animal series built on e-platform 3.0, and the warship series equipped with its DM-i hybrid technologies.

The first series will be competitive in appearance, safety, efficiency, and intelligent features while the other series boasts several disruptive advantages. In the future, the network will cover all segments in terms of body size, powertrain, and price.

The Quzhujian 05 is the first sedan model of the Ocean network and the first model from the warship series. It will bear BYD new flat-shaped logo. At the front, the vehicle presents a rather aggressive look. Besides, the large-sized air intakes also emphasize the car's sporty appearance.

The new model measures 4,780mm long, 1,837mm wide and 1,495mm tall with a 2,718-mm wheelbase, similar to the dimensions of the BYD Qin PLUS. Powering the vehicle will be a 1.5-liter DM-i plug-in hybrid system with a thermal efficiency of 43.04%. Thanks to the DM-i dedicated blade battery, the model can offer battery electric urban mobility experience.

In the next two years, more products from the “Ocean” network will come to meet diverse customer needs, the company added.
