Changan Ford recalls 230,000 Focus cars in China

The calibration software behind the electronic throttle control system may result in extinction when engines are operating at low speed and low load. As for the problem, Changan Ford will conduct a free examination of the affected cars and upgrade the software.

Reportedly, after coking occurs in several Focus 2009 cars, Ford Changan starts investigating the causes. Meanwhile, it offers to clean the throttle valves for the concerned car owners and initiatively inform the owners of the potential risk, and has also set up a customer service group to deal with the owners' inquires.

Moreover, in order to resolve the problem as soon as possible, Changan Ford has established a special team of technical experts. After strict testing and analysis, the team has now developed a more suitable calibration software system for the domestic vehicle environment.
