Chery 231 Million dollars deal with Delphi

Nowadays, Delphi announced that a big deal worthy 231 million dollars was just signed with China automaker Chery Automobile. Delphi will supply OPS and integrated navigation system for Chery production platforms and airbag, curtain airbag, side bag, passengers detective system, airbag controlling unit, front-and-side impact sensor and seat location sensor for all present models of Chery automobiles.

Moreover, Delphi also will supply camera-equipped reverse aid and navigation system for new models of Chery automobile.

This deal is a sign of Chery aiming to exploit North America market. Mr. Charles Goad, the manager of electronics and safety system department said that Chery cooperated with Delphi for Delphi’s competitive price and quality as well as familiarity of North America market.”

Chery automobile was founded in 1997 with its capacity roared from 50,000 units in 2002 to 300,000 units in 2006. By 2010, its capacity is going to reach 1 million. From 2001, Chery exported total 20,000 units to over 50 countries and areas and will export to the United States in the future.
