LEXUS hybrid SUV--RX400h seizes Chinese market

LEXUS launched the new SUV model RX400h -- the world's first luxury hybrid vehicle in Beijing. In order to encourage consumers to buy RX400h at the price of 810,000 yuan, LEXUS granted for each LEXUS RX400h "first 150,000km free maintenance" service on the basis of "first 150,000km free maintenance" for all models.

RX400h is the first luxury SUV model meets the United States SULEV (Super Ultra Low Emission Vehicle) ultra-low emission standards and the EU No.4 standards. RX400h debuted in North America in January 2005 on Detroit Auto Show and formally was put into the North American market in April of the same year. At present, the total sales have reached 62,000 units, while145, 000 units sales globally in 2006, among which 32,000 are hybrid vehicles.

There are total 14 LEXUS franchised dealers in China. Zeng Lintang, vice president of Toyota Motor (China) Investment Co. hoped that the number of franchised dealers amount to 41 by the end of this year. Thus, LEXUS can complete its presence in major cities in China.
