BMW sales surged to 126,949 in China'06
Last week BMW Group announced its excellent performance in Asia market in 2006: sales of 126, 949 units, leading the luxury car market for four consecutive 4 years.
BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce's overall sales growth rate was 13.8%. BMW brand car sales increased 15.5%, reaching 109,848 units. MINI sales continued to grow, reaching 16,959 units, an increase of 3.7% year-on-year. A total of 142 Rolls-Royce Phantom delivered to customers, an increase of 39.2% from the previous year.
In China Region (including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), BMW Group reached its highest sales point, the BMW Group sales increase to 44,700 units, an increase of 35.4% (2005:33,020 000 units). In China, BMW and MINI brand sales reached 36,357 vehicles, an increase of 50% (2005:24. 025 units). BMW 7 series, the X3 and X5 had occupied a leading position in their respective market segment, including the sales of the new BMW 5 series designed for China customers.
In 2006, China mainland will continue to become the world's second largest market for BMW 7 series, up 7,522 units, an increase of 32%.
