Changan Ford recall 25355 units MAX for airbag risks

Shanghai, September 7, Gasgoo - According to the information of Defective Product Administrative Center, under the requirements of Defective Auto Product Recall Management Regulations, Changan Ford Automobile Co. Ltd files a recall plan record to General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China, the company decides to recall a total of 25355 MAX which were produced during the period from July 7, 2006 to May 15, 2014 since November 30, 2017.

It is understood that the main reason for this recall is because the driver's front seat airbag is equipped with a ammonium nitrate gas generator without desiccant produced by Takada. When the airbag is deployed, the gas generator may occur abnormal damage, causing debris flying out and hurting the personnel inside the vehicle, so that there are security risks.
Changan Ford Automobile Co. Ltd. will recall the vehicles and replace the driver's seat front airbag module for free in order to eliminate security risks.
