Honda, Neusoft sign agreement to cooperate in car sharing

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 12, Honda China signed a cooperation agreement with Neusoft Reach Automotive Technology, a subsidiary of Neusoft Group to carry out strategic cooperation.

Apart from the cooperation in electric vehicle technology, which has already started, Honda China will also invest RMB 60 million in its car sharing service subsidiary Reachda and they will work together to expand car sharing business. The investment will give Honda China 10 percent of Reachda’s stake. In the future, two companies will step up efforts to innovate the travelling mode and upgrade their services.

Wang Yongfeng, chairman of Neusoft Reach, said that his company has the same dream as Honda in their vision of future transportation while car sharing service is one of the effective measures to create intelligent transportation. “Neusoft Reach is currently establishing a world leading travelling service platform. By virtue of our advantages in IT, big data and artificial intelligence, we will join hands with Honda to build a new intelligent transportation society.”

Neusoft is a leading IT solution supplier and service provider in China and its subsidiary Neusoft Reach focuses on the core technologies in electric vehicle, intelligent connectivity and autonomous driving to provide platform and key technologies for next-gen vehicles.

At the 2017 International Forum (TEDA) on Chinese Automotive Industry Development held in Tianjin in September, Honda China executive officer Yasuhide Mizuno said that Honda Motor Co. will collaborate with Neusoft to develop core technology for EV and will bring its electric car to China in 2018.

MIZUNO Yasuhide restated its EV plan in China at the 2017 Honda China Media Conference. He said that 2018 will mark Honda’s first EV year in China and that Honda will cooperate with its two joint ventures, Dongfeng Honda and GAC Honda, to introduce a China-exclusive electric vehicle which will be built on Honda’s compact SUV platform.

At the media conference, Honda also announced that the application of Honda Sensing technology will be expanded from mid-above models to compact ones. Besides, new-gen Honda Connect will soon make its presence in Honda’s new products.
