Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Cai Jianjun, former vice president of Baoneng Auto and senior vice president of Qoros Auto, has been confirmed to join AIWAYS as the EV startup's executive vice president, taking charge of the marketing and sales, mobility service as well as intelligent energy businesses, according to some local reports released on December 6.

Mr. Cai was educated at the Chongqing University of Technology and got an MBA (Master of Business Administration) degree from the Chongqing University. Before he was employed by Baoneng Auto, he has held senior executive positions at BAIC Motor from October 2015, presiding over the marketing business of the automaker's self-owned brands.

On November 29, Cai's new employer AIWAYS unveiled its first volume production model--the U5 and officially announced the opening-up of its MAS (MORE ADAPTABLE STRUCTURE) platform and modular technologies.

It is noteworthy that a number of senior executives from such Chinese vehicle startups as Qiantu Motor, Singulato Motors, NIO and XPENG Motors attended the unveiling ceremony. Fu Qiang, CEO of AIWAYS said the attendance of peers may indicate that the relationship among EV startups in China will gradually transfer from the pure competition to competition with cooperation. By sharing the MAS platform and modular technologies, AIWAYS and its partners expect to have their development cost reduced substantially and development period shortened.
