Beijing Hyundai sees 10,000,000th vehicle come off production line, to roll out 8 new models in 2019

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Beijing Hyundai saw its 10,000,000th vehicle come off the production line on December 23. Before the Sino-French automaker, there are only six automakers in China which have achieved this production outputs, according to local media.

To date, Beijing Hyundai has gained a total sales approaching RMB 1 trillion since it was founded in 2002. The 10,000,000-unit outputs prove that the company boasts favorable “hard power” in product R&D, design, manufacture and marketing as well as the corporate operation.

It is also reported that the automaker plans to roll out three all-new models, two facelifts and three NEV models next year. Currently, six models that have been exposed are the fourth-generation SantaFe, the Elantra PHEV, the all-new Sonata, the all-new ix25, the LA FESTA BEV and the ENCINO BEV.

The fourth-generation SantaFe measures 4,930mm long, 1,910mm wide and 1,720mm tall with a wheelbase length of 2,865mm. It offers two options of seat layouts—a six-seat and a seven-seat layout. The new model features a polygonal grille coupled with split-type headlights at its front face. As to the side profile, the character waistlines stretch from the front wheel fender to the rear end.

Inside, the new SantaFe carries a four-spoke multifunctional steering wheel and a floating display at the center console. Powering the vehicle is a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that pumps out 169kW or 176.5kW. Hyundai's HTRAC® All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system will be offered to its top-spec version.

The ENCINO BEV is likely to be driven by a 150kW electric motor and a battery pack with a capacity of 64kWh, the same as the Hyundai Kona that is available for markets outside China. The maximum range for the new model may reach 470km.

Meanwhile, the Elantra PHEV is expected to carry a 1.6-litre naturally aspirated engine or a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine.
