Audi bundles China business in one hand with Gaby-Luise Wüst
Beijing, June 28, 2019 – Gaby-Luise Wüst will become the new President of Audi China on July 1st. She succeeds Thomas Owsianski, who will take over the position of President and CEO of Volkswagen Argentina in the future.
"Gaby-Luise Wüst is one of the most experienced automotive managers in the global Audi Group. Gaby-Luise Wüst is already responsible for sales in Chinese mainland and Hong Kong as well as the joint venture relations of AUDI AG in China. From Ingolstadt, she has managed both the product offensive in the car manufacturer's most important market as well as the development of the future strategy for Audi in China. "For us, it is therefore a logical step that Gaby-Luise Wüst, as the new President of Audi China, will now also implement the further expansion of the China business on site,” says Alexander Seitz.
After studying business administration, Gaby-Luise Wüst began her professional career at the BMW Group, where she was responsible for the automaker’s market entry and growth strategy for the Chinese market in Beijing from 2003 to 2011. From 2012 to 2014, she led the Asia-Pacific region at the MINI brand. Between 2014 and 2018, she was COO at Infiniti Global in Hong Kong and Director Sales Operations for Japan's Nissan Group in Yokohama. Since April 2018, Gaby-Luise Wüst has been Head of Sales Chinese mainland/Hong Kong and additionally from December 2018 Head of China Product Project Management at AUDI AG in Ingolstadt.
Gaby-Luise Wüst wants to focus first on the areas of partner relationships, brand steering, products and dealer business. Other central pillars of Audi's future strategy in China, technical development as well as digitalization and connectivity, are to receive significantly more responsibility and operational opportunities on site.
Thomas Owsianski, one of the Volkswagen Group's most experienced international managers, is transferring as President and CEO of Volkswagen Argentina to South America. Owsianski has extensive international experience and has already worked successfully in management positions for Škoda in Mlada Boleslaw and Shanghai. He has also been Vice President Volkswagen do Brasil and CEO Sales and Marketing for South America. As part of his Group responsibility, Thomas Owsianski took over the leadership at Audi China in 2018 with the task of aligning the organization for the future strategy and decisively advancing the necessary processes. Under his oversight, Audi China entered an extensive development phase, gaining more steering power and enhancing the “In China, for China” strategy.
