Dongfeng Honda sees 11th-generation Civic leave production line

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- The China-built 11th-generation Civic, the all-new version of the classic Honda-branded sedan model, rolled off the assembly line on September 14, according to Dongfeng Honda. The new model will formally hit the market ten days later.

The all-new Civic adopts a fire new exterior design compared to the existing version. At the front end, the aggressive triple air intakes are located below the slim LED headlights, accentuating the car's width and low center of gravity. Aside from the headlights, LED lighting is also used in daytime running lights, parking lights, and fog lights.

As for the side profile, a low beltline with horizontal windowsills and door-mounted side mirrors improve visibility while maintaining the clean lines of the exterior. The lower character line carries up from the bottom of the front door, rising across the rear doors, and through the rear fenders for an enhanced sense of motion.

At the rear, the spoiler has been moved to the base of the rear window and thus provides a ducktail look. The taillight strip running across the tailgate also stresses the vehicle's width.

In the cockpit, a 9-inch HondaConnect infotainment touchscreen is two inches larger than that of the outgoing model. The all-new Civic offers three color schemes for interior, namely, the Black, the Black/Red, and the Sport Black.

Regarding safety facilities, the 11th-generation Civic comes with the Honda Sensing safety suite, which encompasses such functional systems as ACC (adaptive cruise control), LKAS (lane keeping assist system), TJA (traffic jam assist), LDW (lane departure warning), FCW (forward collision warning), and TSR (traffic sign recognition).

The all-new made-in-China Civic will carry a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine that is good for 95kW/134kW. Mated to the engine is a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT.
