Ford Motor scores 11% YoY growth in Jan.-Sept. China sales

Ford Motor's third-quarter sales in Greater China exceeded 150,100 units, representing a year-over-year decline of 8.7%, due to continued challenges related to the global semiconductor shortage, Central China floods in July and pandemic-related restrictions in parts of the country.

The year-to-date deliveries of Ford-branded passenger vehicles reached 164,903 units, remaining flat over the year-ago period thanks to the stable growth in the demands of SUV models and high-end sedan models.

For the first three quarters, Ford brand's SUV sales amounted to 89,826 units, up 8.3%. The year-to-date sales of the Ford Edge and Espace exceeded 21,800 units and 24,000 units respectively, rising 24.4% and 2.8%. Meanwhile, the sales of the locally-made Ford Explorer topped 20,500 units.
