BYD’s Jan.-Nov. NEV sales top 500 thousand units

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD Company Limited saw its monthly auto sales surge 82.3% over a year earlier to 98,340 units in November, according to the company's statement. For the first eleven months, BYD scored a 72.94% year-on-year hike with 641,019 vehicles sold.

The blooming sales growth entirely flowed from the increase in new energy vehicle (NEV) sales. BYD said its NEV sales in November rocketed 241.77% from the previous year to 91,219 units, resulting in a year-to-date volume of 509,838 units (+216.97% YoY).

It is worth mentioning that BYD achieved highest-level figures in monthly auto sales and NEV sales in November.

The sales of the BYD Han amounted to 12,841 units last month, jumping 27.08% from the year-ago period and exceeding 10,000 units for three straight months. Notably, the Han EV recorded a Nov. sales volume of 10,021 units, the first all-electric full-sized sedan model in China to achieve monthly sales topping 10,000 units. Meanwhile, the sales of the Han DM (the PHEV version) stood at 2,820 units, climbing 7.51% over the previous year. As of Nov. 2021, cumulative sales of the BYD Han had surpassed 140,000 units.

Moreover, the Dolphin, the first model riding on BYD's e-platform 3.0, logged a sales volume of 8,809 units in Nov., representing a 46.4% month-over-month leap.

At the Auto Guangzhou, BYD launched a new sales network dubbed “Ocean”. Through the “Ocean” network, the company will sell two series of vehicles: the one is for full electric Marine Life series, whose first model is the BYD Dolphin; the other is called the Warship series, dedicated to DM-i models, of which the Destroyer 05 is the first.

Oil-fueled vehicles accounted for only 7.24% of BYD's total Nov. sales, 2.65 percentage points lower than that of October.
