Baidu's Apollo partners with Guangdong Huafeng for autonomous EV chassis development
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Baidu’s Apollo Intelligent Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (Apollo) has inked a comprehensive strategic cooperation framework agreement with Guangdong Huafeng New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (Huafeng) for autonomous EV chassis development, the latter announced on April 14th.

The agreement specifies that with Huafeng’s superiority in academia and the new energy industry and Apollo’s accumulation in autonomous driving and ecosystem, the partners will work on product planning and definition for the electric chassis dedicated to autonomous cars.
In the meantime, Huafeng and Apollo will establish a collaborative R&D group for the project, building an innovative cooperation platform. The companies believe that the joint team can fully mobilize their resources within the electric vehicle and autonomous driving industrial chains, advancing the research on automotive intelligence, electrification, lightweight, and integration.
Huafeng and Apollo aim to maintain their leading position in technology and products within the autonomous driving and electric drive chassis fields.
One of Huafeng’s subsidiaries, Beijing Science and Engineering Huachuang Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd. will be the carrier for cooperation with Apollo. Founded in 2010, the company is backed by the national electric vehicle engineering lab of the Beijing Institute of Technology, dedicated to developing key technologies for new energy vehicles. The lab has led more than fifty national and municipal technology projects and educated multiple experts in the field.
