Haima Automobile sets up subsidiary for green energy businesses

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chinese carmaker Haima Automobile set up on May 9 a wholly-owned subsidiary, which is permitted to sell hydrogen refueling and storage facilities.

Incorporated in Haikou city, Hainan province, the subsidiary, dubbed Haidao Lvneng Development Co., Ltd., involves a registered capital of 100 million yuan ($15 million), according to the corporate information inquiry platform Tianyancha. It has a line of businesses covering the operation of gas refueling and centralized rapid charging stations, energy-saving management and energy-storage technology services, sales of station-used hydrogen refueling and storage facilities, and R&D of resource recycling technologies.

The latest firm registrations came 26 days after the automaker announced the plan to build the Haikou-based subsidiary to explore and improve NEV-related application scenarios and service models, by leveraging the resource endowment of Hainan Free Trade Port, the environmental advantage of islands, and Haima Automobile's new energy vehicles.

The establishment of the subsidiary marks the automaker's further step in the deployment of the hydrogen industry. Haima Automobile has already made full-chain layouts that encompass photovoltaic power generation, water-electrolytic hydrogen making, high-voltage hydrogen refueling, as well as the R&D, manufacturing, and commercial operation of fuel cell vehicles.

In early March this year, Haima Automobile signed a framework agreement with Yangtze Three Gorges (Hainan) Green Development Investment Co., Ltd. to co-conduct the project for hydrogen manufacturing, storage, transportation, refueling, and hydrogen-powered vehicle operation.
