According to the CEO of JIDU, Xia Yiping, the automaker will launch the limited-edition mass-production automotive robot, the ROBO-01, in October, and kick off presale. The production-oriented model can be expected for delivery in the second half of 2023.
Although several of the ROBO-01 concept car’s traits will be removed in the mass-production version, the CEO stressed that the vehicle's mass-produced version of the vehicle will have high-level autonomous driving capabilities.
According to the company, the ROBO-01 will share the same production lines in Geely’s Hangzhou factory with ZEEKR and Polestar's vehicles.
In addition, in terms of distribution network, JIDU’s first experience center will be opened in Shanghai within the year 2022. The preliminary sales network will be completed with the first batch of stores opened up in 46 Chinese cities in 2023.
Moreover, Xia Yiping also announced the "2880 plan" at the event, which means the JIDU will be able to deliver 800,000 automotive robots annually by 2028.
