JIDU showcases ROBO-01, ROBO-02 at Auto Guangzhou 2022

Beijing (Gasgoo)- JIDU, the auto brand backed by Baidu and Geely, put its first automotive robot (Robocar), the ROBO-01, on display at the Auto Guangzhou 2022 beginning December 30.

Along with the ROBO-01’s four color options, which are unveiled for the first time, JIDU also unveiled its second production model, a battery-electric coupe-style sedan named the ROBO-02.

The production ROBO-01 highly retains the forward-looking design of its previous concept car. Compared to the concept model, most of the physical controls, such as external door handles and center control buttons, are eliminated, while the U-shaped steering wheel, 3D borderless integrated screen, active lifting-type spoiler, and the empathic interactive headlights are kept.

Since establishment, JIDU has set its design language as “robotic aesthetics”, highlighting futuristics, robotics, and empathy features. The same design language was also inherited by JIDU’s second Robocar, the ROBO-02 sedan. 

The pure-electric sedan adopts a sporty futuristic profile without external door handles like its predecessor. The ROBO-02 is equipped with highly-integrated intelligent headlights with interactive AI pixel lights, high beam lights, dipped headlights, daytime running lights, and position lights inside. The vehicle is also installed with hidden LiDAR units. 

According to JIDU, delivery of the ROBO-01 will kick off in 2023, and the ROBO-02 will also be introduced to the public soon.
