Hongqi boasts 120% YoY hike in May NEV sales

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Hongqi, the premium automotive brand under FAW Group, reported prominent new energy vehicle (NEV) sales result for May 2023.

In May alone, Hongqi's NEV sales surpassed 8,500 units, marking a staggering 120% year-on-year hike. Furthermore, the cumulative NEV sales for the Jan.-May period totaled 25,389 units, exhibiting an impressive 339% soar compared to a year ago. This remarkable sales performance comes as Hongqi celebrates its 65th anniversary, once again demonstrating the brand's momentum and contributing to its significant progress.

Key initiatives that have contributed to Hongqi's record-breaking sales include the effective implementation of customer marketing strategies and the thorough exploration of the market potential for its products, the company said. 

In order to address the specific characteristics of the E-QM5 model for travel purposes, Hongqi collaborated with partners, ride-hailing companies, and financial institutions to organize various promotional events targeting corporate and ride-hailing drivers. Additionally, Hongqi provided clear and comprehensive solutions on topics of interest to the ride-hailing industry, including finance, battery swapping, maintenance, and residual value buybacks, ensuring that users feel confident in their purchase and knowledgeable about their usage.

Since January 8 of this year, the brand has consistently released a series of significant technological advancements, including the "Flag" superstructure FMEs, as well as the electric platform HME, the intelligent platform HIS, and the hybrid platform HMP. This robust architecture provides strong support for the research, development, and manufacturing of Hongqi's NEV models.

Built on the new architecture, Hongqi's all-new electric sedan, Hongqi E001, and the all-electric SUV, Hongqi E202, were unveiled at the Auto Shanghai 2023.
