Dongfeng Mengshi starts delivering luxury electric off-roader Mengshi 917

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 17, beneath the Mingsha Mountain of Dunhuang, Dongfeng Motor’s luxury new energy vehicle brand Mengshi hosted a user salon event to mark the delivery of the luxurious electric off-road vehicle, the Mengshi 917.

Mengshi, introduced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation in 2022, fuses the legacy of over half a century of Dongfeng's automotive expertise with the DNA of China's premier military off-road vehicle, the "Dongfeng Mengshi," to create a novel breed of electric off-roaders.

Located in Wuhan Economic Development Zone, the Mengshi Tech Intelligent Park began construction on February 3 last year, with the entire production line fully operational by March 28 this year, which is an astonishing feat accomplished in less than 14 months. On August 19, the Mengshi Tech Intelligent Park, embracing smart manufacturing, high-end customization, off-road experiences, and green zero-emissions, officially opened its doors, marking the commencement of mass production for the first model, the Mengshi 917.

Amidst the transition from winter to spring, the Mengshi 917 underwent its final round of winter calibration in cold regions. It made its global debut at the Auto Shanghai 2023 in April, embarked on a comprehensive endurance test in July, conquering mountains, deserts, and challenging terrains, further honing its product quality. On August 25, at this year’s Chengdu Motor Show, the Mengshi 917 was officially launched for sale.

Mengshi prides itself on fully autonomous development of key core technologies. The Mengshi intelligent off-road architecture, known as M TECH, achieved groundbreaking innovations in three major domains, namely, super-platform, super-power, and super-off-road, bridging the technological gap in China's luxury electric off-road segment. Born from the architecture, the Mengshi 917 is the world's first luxury electric off-roader with both range-extender and pure electric power versions.
