Geely, Baidu's JI YUE 01 nabs 9,856 orders in first six hours upon pre-sale

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 19, JI YUE, the next-generation automotive robocar brand co-developed by Geely Holding and Baidu, officially opened reservations for its debut model, the "JI YUE 01," with prices starting at 259,900 yuan.

The vehicle is set to hit the market in October this year. On the evening of the announcement, JI YUE's CEO, Xia Yiping, revealed on Weibo that within the first 6 hours of reservations opening, the company had received orders for 9,856 units.

The JI YUE brand was officially unveiled on August 14, as a collaboration between Geely and Baidu. On the same day, the brand’s first model, the JI YUE 01, appeared on China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's public notice catalogue.The JI YUE 01, built on Geely’s SEA platform, is positioned as a midsize SUV. It measures 4,853mm in length, 1,990mm in width, 1,611mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000mm.

In terms of design, the JI YUE 01 features a futuristic look with the elimination of most physical controls such as exterior door handles and central control buttons. It adopts a U-shaped steering wheel, a 3D borderless integrated ultra-clear screen, an active up-and-down tail wing, and empathetic interactive headlights.

In the realm of smart features, the JI YUE 01 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Automotive Digital Cockpit Platform 8295 chip. It is equipped with dual NPUs (Neural Processing Units) for advanced AI capabilities. Additionally, as the first vehicle with comprehensive Apollo high-level autonomous driving capabilities, it utilizes dual NVIDIA DRIVE Orin chips, providing mature intelligent driving functions for various scenarios, including highways, city streets, and parking. Its advanced intelligent assisted driving core function, Point-to-Point Pilot Assistance (PPA), is fully functional.
