The automaker said that its Yaoguang 2025 Technology is set to be integrated into Chery's E0X high-performance electric platform and super hybrid platform, bringing key features in terms of safety, energy efficiency, spacious interiors, smart cabins, and intelligent driving.
In the realm of safety, Chery's new vehicle structure will adopt a lightweight "space capsule" design consisting of high-strength steel and aluminum. It will feature a dual-horizon, triple-vertical force transmission structure, active seat belts, remote airbags, and integrated safety technologies. New energy models will be equipped with world-class battery safety features, including safe battery cells, exceptional waterproofing, superb collision resistance, extreme heat resistance, and high-voltage safety, all monitored continuously.

Chery aims to set the new energy consumption standard for electric vehicles with its world-class “Low Energy Consumption” solution. With a combination of 56 extremely low energy consumption technologies, including a minimal drag coefficient of 0.205Cd, a 30% weight reduction, efficient 800V electric propulsion, intelligent energy recovery, and high-efficiency heat pumps, Chery is able to provide impressive energy efficiency performance.
In pure electric vehicle models, under standard conditions, the minimum CLTC-rated energy consumption is 11.7kWh/100km, offering an extended range of up to 905km. A fast-charging session of just 5 minutes can provide an additional 150km of range. This performance outshines industry averages, with less than a 9% reduction in range under cold conditions and less than a 3% reduction in range under hot conditions.

On the front of hybrid electric models, the standard fuel consumption can reach an impressive 4.2L/100km under WLTC conditions, and the battery-powered range under WLTC conditions reaches 106km. The comprehensive range can be extended up to 1,400km. Battery charging from 30% to 80% takes only 19 minutes, and 0-50km/h acceleration is accomplished in just 3.4 seconds. These remarkable energy-efficient features come from a suite of 72 technologies, including the fifth-generation ACTECO hybrid electric engine, with a thermal efficiency exceeding 44.5%, and a continuously variable super hybrid DHT transmission and three-speed super hybrid DHT transmission. Furthermore, Chery has extensively tested these technologies across various speed ranges, temperature ranges, and driving scenarios.

The Yaoguang 2025 Technology also enhances interior space, with the example of the STERRA ES model, boasting an impressive room occupancy rate of 70.2%. The solution offers maximum storage that comprises 32 storage spaces with a total volume exceeding 436 liters, along with six additional convenient storage spaces.
In terms of smart cockpit, Chery plans on deploying a user-customized service-oriented electronic-electrical architecture called EEA 5.0. It comes equipped with hardware boasting high AI computing power of 1000 TOPS, a SOA dual-module software architecture, a high-bandwidth secure communication architecture, high-speed OTA iterations, and a global-oriented design.

These new technologies will be integrated into Chery's Fengyun series pure electric and hybrid sedans and SUVs, EXEED STERRA series electric sedans and SUVs, JETOUR’s Shanhai hybrid city and off-road SUVs, and the iCAR 03 electric cars.
Chery's vehicle models are set to be introduced to overseas markets in Europe, Latin America, Africa, Australia, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Central Asia, and beyond. These vehicles are geared for worldwide connectivity, featuring 16 languages and 8 voice options.
Regarding product development roadmap, Chery plans to launch five hybrid electric vehicle models in the fourth quarter of this year, as well as four high-end electric vehicle models riding on the E0X platform. Over the next two years, Chery will introduce a total of 24 hybrid electric vehicle models and 15 E0X-powered premium electric vehicle models.
