Beijing (Gasgoo)- During the "Belt and Road CEO Conference” from October 17 to 18, Didi Chuxing ("DiDi"), in collaboration with BYD's Brazilian subsidiary, Dahruj (a Brazilian car rental company), and IturanMob (a Brazilian fleet management service provider) signed an agreement to promote the international deployment of China-made electric vehicles (EVs) in Brazil.

This initiative aims to boost the application of China’s EVs in Brazil and drive a beneficial cycle where digital services stimulate manufacturing exports. In 2023, DiDi plans to introduce and deploy 300 BYD EVs through its ride-hailing platform in Brazil. Currently, DiDi operates the largest electric ride-hailing fleet in Brazil.
This partnership is one of DiDi's latest efforts within the "Brazil Sustainable Mobility Alliance," which was spearheaded in Brazil. In April 2022, DiDi, through its Brazilian ride-hailing platform, collaborated with Brazilian companies from various sectors, including automotive manufacturing, energy, leasing, and finance, to promote the adoption of new energy vehicles and the electrification of ride-hailing in Brazil. The alliance aims to increase the penetration rate of new energy vehicles from the current approximately 2% to 10% by 2025 and establish 10,000 public charging stations in Brazil. BYD's Brazilian subsidiary joined the alliance in July 2022, bringing the total number of alliance members to 12.

In addition, DiDi also participated in a ceremony for the exchange of corporate cooperation results. DiDi signed an agreement to acquire 100% equity in the Brazilian financial technology company BePay. Through this partnership, both companies will provide secure online payment services to Brazilian users, promote the adoption of mobile payments in Brazil, and support the development of the local digital economy.
Currently, DiDi's international operations cover 14 countries across Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa, including Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Costa Rica. These services span various offerings, including ride-hailing, food delivery, and financial services. DiDi's international business currently serves approximately 80 million annual active users, with over 3.2 million annual active drivers and more than 450,000 annual active food delivery riders on its platform.
