Hover Pi drives Great Wall Motor to limo segment

Shanghai, August 15 (Gasgoo.com) Great Wall Motor also produces limousine version of the Hover, called Great Wall Hover Pi, which has go on sale simultaneously across China. This marks the Chinese SUV maker's stepping into the limousine segment of the auto market, said xinhuanet.com today.

The GW Hover Pi, its name also spelled Hover•π, is the first limo model mass-produced on a professionally modernized production line in China and is the entry model for Great Wall Motor's grand foray into the super-luxury car market.

The 2008 Hover Pi is designed on the 2006 Hover Pi version, with upgraded interiors and higher configurations, and its length extended from 6.7m to 6.9m. The new limo sells for 298,000 yuan ($43,560) upon its launch to the market.

The previous version of the Hover Pi has been the best selling model of its kind, with its sales reaching 247 units in 2007. The Hover Pi limo has also been exported to Japan, South Korea, France, Italy, Russia, South Africa, and other overseas markets.
