According to the company, the driverless delivery vehicle is equipped with a smart cargo container, intelligent interactive terminal, and intelligent acousto-opto-electronic technology. The vehicle is powered by L4 autonomous technology, an all-around video monitor, and a cloud-based management system. SF autonomous vehicle can operate on all roads open or closed, such as campuses, tour sites, residential areas, and large-scale industrial parks, providing smart freight services to users under multiple scenarios, the company added.
Notably, the SF driverless delivery vehicle supports 5G connectivity and China’s BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, allowing accurate detection of its surrounding environment. Installations of the face recognition system, voice interaction system, interactive screen, and QR code-based programs can guarantee full-time interaction from the vehicles during tasks, cutting down the delivery time.
The idea of unmanned delivery service was brought up to the public due to the pandemic breakout. During the difficult times, tech giants in China such as JD.com, Baidu, Meituan, and many other autonomous startups have put their driverless vehicles to use in infected areas and helped with the delivery of living necessities and pharmaceuticals.
