The two models are powered by the BlueCruise ADAS system and are available in the Chinese market. The deal specifies that eMapgo Technology will provide mapping service covering most highways and city expressways in mainland China for the Ford BlueCruise system and perform OTA updates for improvement.
eMapgo's service will help Ford Motor reinforce its BlueCruise technology reliability in the country.
According to Ford Motor, BlueCruise is an L2 autonomous driving function that meets the SAE standard. When the system is activated, it is able to make automated judgments to determine whether the current road condition is suitable to initiate the BlueCruise function and make subsequent alerts on the dashboard. The driver status monitoring system will then monitor drivers' traffic observation situations and warn and alarm when necessary.
BlueCruise also features full-speed adaptive cruise (with stop and go automatic follow-up function) and lane-centering assistance functions. BlueCruise can control acceleration, deceleration, and steering to help relieve long-term driving stress, improving driving safety.
