With a vision to transform cars into the third living space on wheels for users, intelligent control and convenience have become more and more important for automakers as well as consumers.

According to the partners, through their cooperation, Li Auto users are able to realize passive entry passive start (PEPS) in their vehicles by simply carrying a working HONOR smartphone with the Magic UI 6.0 operation system. When the phone comes near the car, users can unlock the doors by pulling on the door handles. The car will start automatically by stepping on the brakes. When the phone is away from the vehicle, the locks will come up.

Moreover, users can also control their Li Auto vehicles remotely via the applicable HONOR phones. Through the widgets on the “minus one screen” (the screen that comes up when swiping right on the home screen), users can check on the current vehicle condition, open windows and adjust the air conditioners, and so on.

The Magic UI 6.0 operation system will be updated to more HONOR smartphone models, the smartphone maker added. The cooperation will likely be carried over to Li Auto’s second production model, the L9, which is to debut at the upcoming Auto China 2022 in Beijing.
