In compliance with Guangzhou’s intelligent connected vehicle autonomous driving function test requirements, the test was conducted at night time with 31 urban traffic scenarios to validate the G9’s autonomous driving performance under complex conditions.
The G9 passed all challenges safely confining to the traffic regulations under all scenarios, including all kinds of signal recognition and response, left and right turn vehicle conflict driving, merging and overtaking, two-wheeler and pedestrian avoidance, etc. Upon completion of the tests, the XPeng G9 became the first mass-produced model on the market to pass such tests without changes made to its hardware and only through upgrades of its autonomous driving software.
In the past few years, based on the first-generation assisted driving system XPILOT, XPeng has successively implemented high-level assisted driving functions, including APA intelligent parking, high-speed NGP intelligent navigation assisted driving, VPA parking memory parking, etc. In September 2022, XPeng launched the industry’s first mass-produced NGP function. With the G9 kicked off delivery, its second-generation assisted driving system XNGP will gradually achieve all-scenario intelligent assisted driving capabilities in most Chinese cities in 2023.
