BYD’s FinDreams Technology launches RF1-platform-based mmWave radar

Beijing (Gasgoo)- BYD-backed FinDreams Technology successfully launched its new-generation RF1-platform-based forward-looking millimeter-wave radar at the global headquarters of BYD on March 3.

FinDreams Technology formed the R&D team for the product line in 2016. One year later, the team developed the first 24GHz corner millimeter-wave radar and, after multiple product iterations, ultimately achieved mass production.

The valuable experience gained during mass production enabled the team to closely follow the market and quickly shift to the main battlefield of 77GHz millimeter-wave radar. Thanks to the team's full-stack self-developed module capabilities, the RB1 platform's corner radar was successfully developed in just one year. By the end of 2022, its shipment volume had exceeded one million units, and it has now become the sole supplier of BYD's corner radar use.

The RF1 platform has successfully passed rigorous testing and will begin mass production and installation onto vehicles in March this year, making it the world's first manufacturer to successfully develop and deploy this solution. The company disclosed that other products such as 4D imaging radar, intelligent car door radar, and in-cabin living detection radar will also be mass-produced this year.
