NavInfo helps Qingdao city build smart transportation system

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Recently, the construction of the smart city project co-built by Qingdao Huatong Group and NavInfo, named Smart Nanjing Road, in Qingdao has been completed.

The project, covering 3.3 kilometers from Ningxia Road to Chongqing South Road, focuses on smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicle testing, employing high standards and cutting-edge technology to promote digital transformation.

This initiative represents the first smart city pilot in the revitalization of road facilities within the old city area. The route is equipped with IoT sensing devices, roadside units, and high-speed communication, forming a solid foundation for intelligent management. Embracing the an operation model that integrates smart city infrastructure and intelligent connected vehicles.

The project adopts the Smart Nanjing Road Information Platform as the "smart brain," featuring a digital twin platform that combines smart transportation, intelligent connected vehicles, and smart municipal services. It provides a unified data foundation and integrated management hub for various smart scenarios in transportation, municipal services, security, and the environment.

Moreover, the platform facilitates intelligent connected vehicle testing, supporting Level 3 and higher-level autonomous driving functions. This move accelerates the commercialization of autonomous driving technology, propelling Qingdao's intelligent connected vehicle and smart city industries forward.
