Pony.ai joins Abu Dhabi's SAVI for autonomous driving advancement in UAE

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On October 18, at the GITEX Global tech exhibition held in the United Arab Emirates, Chinese autonomous driving solution developer Pony.ai signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO).

This collaboration marks the company's entry into the Abu Dhabi Smart Autonomous Vehicle Industry (SAVI) cluster, situated in Masdar City, the futuristic sustainable urban development project in Abu Dhabi.

The SAVI aims to create a diverse intelligent transportation ecosystem that seamlessly integrates land, sea, and air, accelerating the comprehensive deployment of cutting-edge smart mobility solutions. By fostering collaboration among industry leaders, attracting global tech companies, and developing robust supply chains, the SAVI endeavors to expedite the implementation of future mobility solutions within the UAE. The initiative is further bolstered by facilitating investment and financing, innovation support, and streamlined regulatory services.

As a fresh addition to the SAVI cluster, Pony.ai has gained approval to conduct autonomous driving road tests on Yas Island, a critical step in establishing a global technology footprint. Since its inception in 2016, Pony.ai has been at the forefront of autonomous driving technology development and deployment worldwide, particularly driving significant breakthroughs in launching autonomous driving services (Robotaxi) in various cities across China and the United States.
