ECARX collaborates with Black Sesame Technologies, BlackBerry for ‘Skyland’ integrated intelligent driving platform

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 5, Geely-backed intelligent mobility solution developer ECARX announced a partnership with Black Sesame Technologies and BlackBerry to develop the "Skyland" series integrated intelligent driving platform.

This platform leverages the BlackBerry QNX® Neutrino® real-time operating system (RTOS) and Black Sesame Technologies' A1000 automotive-grade high-performance autonomous driving chip. Notably, the Skyland platform has already been deployed in the new generation SUV model, the Lynk & Co 08.

The deployment signifies not only ECARX's inaugural mass production application in the intelligent driving platform sector but also the first large-scale production project for Black Sesame Technologies' A1000 chip in the intelligent driving field.

The successful production and deployment of ECARX's inaugural intelligent driving system stand as substantive industry recognition for Black Sesame Technologies and BlackBerry's collaboration. In early 2022, the companies announced their joint commitment to constructing a secure and reliable autonomous driving platform.

Within this project, Black Sesame Technologies' A1000 autonomous driving computing chip provides robust computational power for ECARX's intelligent driving platform. Launched in June 2020, the A1000 chip was among the earliest domestically developed high-performance chips based on self-developed automotive-grade core IP in China. With a computing power of 58 TOPS (INT8), it fully supports L2 to L3 autonomous driving functions. Meanwhile, BlackBerry contributes an RTOS with ISO 26262 ASIL D safety certification, ensuring top-notch safety for the ECARX Skyland Pro intelligent driving computing platform.
