GAC Toyota, Momenta to debut end-to-end smart driving solution on bZ3X model

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On June 28, GAC Toyota and autonomous driving tech company Momenta announced their collaboration to develop an end-to-end advanced smart driving system, which will debut on the Sino-Japanese joint venture’s bZ3X model.

According to the two companies, this high-level smart driving solution is built on Momenta’s data-driven AI flywheel, providing users with a safer and more reliable full-scenario intelligent driving experience.

The solution, based on Momenta’s data flywheel at the algorithm level, leverages massive production data feedback for self-learning and rapid iteration, continuously enhancing system performance via OTA (over-the-air) updates. It supports smart driving under both urban and expressway driving scenarios, intelligent parking, and features an end-to-end large model based on Momenta’s 5.0 algorithm, without relying on high-precision maps.

In terms of hardware, the vehicles equipped with this solution will feature 126-line LiDAR and the NVIDIA Orin X platform, delivering 254 TOPS of computing power. The solution claims to enable the vehicle to activate smart driving feature anywhere there's a road, avoid obstacles, and park wherever there's a spot.

Earlier this year, at Auto China 2024 in Beijing, Toyota unveiled two new electric vehicle models, the bZ3C and the bZ3X, both of which are planned to hit the Chinese market within a year.

The bZ3C, co-developed by Toyota, BYD, FAW Toyota, and IEM by TOYOTA, targets Gen Z consumers. Meanwhile, the bZ3X, developed in collaboration with Toyota, GAC Group, and GAC Toyota, is aimed at family users.
