Li Auto also launched OTA 6.2 version software upgrade, which includes several significant updates such as customizable parking spots, low-speed automatic emergency braking (AEB), opening the Li Showroom, and a new feature that allows users to lower ground locks at supercharging stations without exiting the vehicle.

Fan Haoyu, senior vice president of products at Li Auto, stated, “With the release of HD map-free NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) function, our daily urban NOA distance has tripled, and its daily active usage has increased eightfold. Today, we are launching the recruitment for our new-generation intelligent driving experience group, which features an advanced architecture incorporating end-to-end models, VLM, and world models. This marks a new stage of supervised autonomous driving, and Li Auto’s intelligent driving products remain free for our users.”

Lang Xianpeng, vice president of intelligent driving R&D at Li Auto, added, “Thanks to extensive training data, robust computing power, and our AI capability assessment system, the iteration speed of Li Auto’s new-generation intelligent driving system is astounding. Our cumulative training distance has exceeded 2.2 billion kilometers and is expected to surpass 3 billion kilometers by the end of 2024. Current training computing power stands at 5.39 EFLOPS, projected to exceed 8 EFLOPS by the end of 2024. We invest over 1 billion yuan annually in training computing power, and we anticipate that achieving fully autonomous driving will require computing power in the range of 100 EFLOPS, equating to an annual investment of over $1 billion.”

The OTA 6.2 update, which begins rolling out today, focuses on intelligent driving, smart space, and electrification enhancements. Key features include customizable parking in various scenarios with smart parking, low-speed AEB for AD Max models, and additional functionality for AD Pro models, including close-door parking and upgraded side-front, side-rear blind spot crossing braking, and rear collision warnings. Smart space updates include full access to the Li Showroom for all users, new wheel hub perspectives in panoramic images, and over 20 new conditions and actions in task master. Smart electric features include anti-pinch hidden door handles, automated ground lock lowering at supercharging stations, and the ability to start charging pre-cooling and pre-heating at any time.
