XPENG kicks off pre-sales of X9 REEV, featuring up to 1,602-km combined range
On November 6, XPENG officially opened pre-sales for the range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) version of its X9 MPV, introducing two trims priced at 350,000 yuan and 370,000 yuan.
Positioned as a seven-seat premium MPV, the new model builds on XPENG's "Starship Cabin" design philosophy, combining futuristic styling, upgraded performance, and a remarkable 1,602 km combined range that promises to reshape expectations in the high-end MPV segment.
As the latest addition to XPENG's MPV lineup, the X9 REEV retains the futuristic DNA of the battery electric vehicle (BEV) version while introducing refinements tailored to its extended-range powertrain.
At the heart of the X9 REEV lies XPENG's newly developed "Kunpeng Super Range Extension System," built on an advanced 800V high-voltage platform. The powertrain pairs a 1.5T DAM15NTE range extender (rated at 110 kW) with a 210 kW electric motor, delivering strong, seamless acceleration. The result is a highly efficient combination of power, endurance, and refinement that sets a new benchmark in the segment.
XPENG claims the X9 REEV delivers class-leading range and efficiency. Its 63.3 kWh battery enables up to 452 km of battery-powered driving under CLTC conditions—enough for a week of typical commuting on a single charge. With a 60-liter fuel tank added to the mix, the combined range soars to 1,602 km, effectively eliminating range anxiety for long-distance travel. The 800V platform also supports 5C ultra-fast charging, offering a 150% improvement in charging speed over traditional 400V systems. With fuel consumption rated at just 6.4L per 100 km, the X9 REEV strikes a rare balance between performance and energy efficiency.
Nissan Motor launches new vehicle import & export joint venture in China
On November 5, Nissan Motor showcased a lineup of intelligent and diverse "first-of-their-kind" models at the 8th China International Import Expo ("CIIE"), reaffirming its long-term commitment to the Chinese market and advancing its "In China, For China, For the World" strategy.
The following day, Nissan Motor took another major step in deepening its presence in China by announcing the establishment of Nissan Import and Export (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. during the expo.
The new venture, jointly funded with 1 billion yuan by Nissan (China) Investment Co., Ltd. and Dongfeng Motor Corporation—holding 60% and 40% stakes respectively. The automaker said it marks a strategic milestone for both partners on several fronts.
First, it becomes China's first import-export vehicle joint venture backed by a foreign automaker—underscoring Nissan's commitment to strengthening local innovation and leveraging China as a key pillar of its global operations.
Second, it marks a significant step in Nissan's plan to transform its China operations into a global hub for new energy vehicle (NEV) research, development, and exports.
Third, by combining China's mature NEV and smart technology supply chains with Nissan's longstanding strengths in safety, reliability, and comfort, the new venture aims to develop globally competitive products for customers worldwide.
At the expo, Nissan also showcased the N7 and Frontier Pro PHEV, which will serve as the first batch of models to be exported from China to international markets in the coming months.
In total, Nissan Motor exhibited four models at this year's CIIE—the N7, N6, Frontier Pro PHEV, and the Altima equipped with the HarmonySpace cockpit. The latter three models are expected to be launched in China within the coming weeks.
NIO Inc.'s firefly vehicles embark for Europe
A major shipment of firefly vehicles, the first model under NIO Inc's small smart high-end electric car brand FIREFLY, recently set sail from Shanghai's Waigaoqiao Port bound for Europe, signaling a new phase in the automaker's accelerating global expansion.
Deliveries of firefly vehicles in Europe began on August 14, 2025, with customers in Norway and the Netherlands among the first to receive their vehicles. Remarkably, less than four months passed between the model's China launch on April 19 and its first European handover—marking the fastest overseas rollout in NIO's history.
