False emission report on Chengdu motor vehicles will face maximum penalty of RMB 500,000

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Reporters learn from the press conference held by Chengdu Environmental Protection Bureau on October 27th that anyone issuing or using false emission results will face a maximum penalty of RMB 500,000.

Non-road mobile machineries are moving machinery with engines and transportable industrial equipment including bulldozers, road rollers, and excavators. A measure stipulates that non-road mobile machineries should be registered and managed, and that any machinery without being properly registered will face penalty no more than RMB 20,000. In the meantime, some zones should be prohibited from using high-emission non-road mobile machineries for the air quality.

The measure also makes clear responsibilities for owners, users, detection organization, maintenance organizations and supervision organizations of false emission results. Detection organization will face penalty ranging from RMB 100,000 to 500,000 if false report is issued. For a severe violation, certificates will be revoked. Those who pass emission tests by cheating will face penalty of RMB 5,000.
