Gree president visits NEV parts supplier, causing suspicion of making NEV

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On December 10th, Dong Mingzhu, Board Chairman of Gree Electric Appliances and other senior managers visited AVIC Jonhon Optronic Technology Co. and LYD Bearing Corporation. As the former is a leading NEV part company, their visiting caused suspicion that Gree Electric Appliances would enter into NEV area.

It’s noticed that AVIC Jonhon Optronic Technology Co. is closely related to NEV in business scope. As a leading company in domestic connector industry, AVIC Jonhon Optronic Technology Co. mainly provides services and products such as charge connectors, signal connectors and power distribution units for defense and NEV companies with customers including BYD, JAC, Chery, Dongfeng, Yutong and other mainstream auto manufacturers to develop itself into a whole set connection solution provider.

Zhuhai Yinlong with investments from Dong Mingzhu signed a series of strategic cooperative agreements with Luoyang municipal government on August 8th this year, and now plans to invest RMB 15 billion in Luoyang to establish a NEV production base and participate in Titanium-series battery production base. The NEV production base will have an annual capacity of 10,000 units for blade-electric commercial vehicles, 5,000 units for blade-electric special vehicles, 5,000 units for new energy sanitation vehicles and new energy pickups, blade-electric farm machinery and other NEV models.

Gree Electric Appliances is making layouts in blade-electric vehicle industrial chain. But it’s revealed that Gree will not submit for certificates in NEV production in short time. Instead, it plans to launch key auto part products based on EIC system for NEV models to make a solid foundation.
