Top 10 NEV Models by 2017 Sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- According to the data released by China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), the BAIC EC-Series was the best-seller among the top ten NEV models with annual sales of 78,079 units, skyrocketing 1791% over the previous year. With deliveries soaring 366% on an annual basis to 42,342 units, the ZHIDOU-D2 was the second best-selling NEV model in China. But the sales gap between the BAIC EC-Series and the ZHIDOU-D2 was very large.

Though a new model released in 2017, the BYD Song DM took the third place among the ten models with a total delivery of 30,911 units. The Chery eQ deliveries reached 25,784 units, jumping 61% compared with the previous year. Though the JAC IEV6S/E ranked fifth among the ten models with a total delivery of 24,210 units, it enjoyed the second largest YoY sales growth of 832% in 2017.

Among the top 10 models, the BYD Song DM and the Roewe eRX5 were newly released in 2017. The DM ranked third and the eRX5 ranked ninth. Taking the eighth place of the ten, the BYD Qin suffered year-on-year drop of 5% to 20,738 units. Except the aforementioned three models, other seven models all saw large YoY sales growth, four models enjoyed two-digit growth, two saw three-digit growth, one even boasted four-digit sales growth.
