Tesla recalls 423 imported vehicles in China over brake bolt risk

The recall includes certain imported Model 3s made between Feb.2, 2019 and Nov.20, 2019. The automaker said some vehicles' brake caliper bolts may not be tightened in accordance with standard torque, and loose bolts may result in loss of tire pressure, increasing the risk of crash. For those vehicles, Tesla will inspect, tighten, or replace the bolts for free, if needed.

Meanwhile, Tesla is also recalling 311 imported Model 3s built between Jan. 12, 2019 and Nov. 20, 2019 in China over safety belt’s bolts risks. In a crash, the front seat belt, with loose bolts, may malfunction, increasing the risk of injury.

According to documents made public on Wednesday, Tesla is also recalling nearly 6,000 U.S. vehicles because of the concerns that brake caliper bolts might loosen. Those vehicles cover certain 2019-2021 Model 3s and 2020-2021 Model Ys.
