Car and City: September 2021 registrations of Li ONE
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In September, Li Auto ranked third among Chinese NEV startups with its car insurance registrations amounting to 7,343 units, according to the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission (CBIRC).
Among car brands in China, Li Auto took the No.14 spot in terms of Sept. registrations of locally-made new energy vehicles, which merely refer to all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid vehicles (including range-extended electric vehicles).
While other startups are expanding product lineup, Li Auto still has one mass-produced model for sales. The monthly registrations of the Li ONE hit an all-time time of 9,408 units in August, while then dropped 22% month on month in September.
Among the NEV models made by Chinese EV startups, the Li ONE was the runner-up by Sept. registrations, following the XPeng P7 (7,494 units).
Regarding the contribution of cities, only Hangzhou and Shenzhen recorded the Li ONE registrations at or above 500 units in September. Meanwhile, the Li ONE insurance volume stood between 400 and 500 in Shanghai and Zhengzhou.
Aside from Shenzhen and Shanghai, the other two first-tier cities, Guangzhou and Beijing ranked 6th and 9th respectively.
Among the top 10 cities by Sept. Li ONE registrations, six were provincial cities, including Hangzhou, Zhengzhou, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Xi'an, and Shijiazhuang.
