BYD Seagull BEV model said to hit market in Q2 2023
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BYD is going to put the BYD Seagull, a fire new small-sized full-electric car of BYD's Ocean Series, onto the market in the second quarter of this year, according to a Chinese local media outlet.
The new model has been included in a catalogue issued by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology ("MIIT"). The aforesaid media channel revealed that the BYD Seagull would sit below the BYD Dolphin and would be sold via BYD's "Ocean Series" sales network at prices under 100,000 yuan ($14,740).

According to the data from the MIIT, the BYD Seagull measures 3,780mm long, 1,715mm wide, and 1,540mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,500mm. It is smaller than the BYD Dolphin, which is 4,125mm long, 1,770mm wide, and 1,570mm tall with a 2,700-mm wheelbase.

The BYD Seagull will be powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor at the front axle, which is good for a rated output power of 25kW and a peak output of 55kW, carrying an LFP battery pack.
Inheriting BYD's concept design of "Marine Aesthetics", the BYD Seagull still dispenses with a front grille and adopts the rear design where a light strip stretches across the car's width. The charging port is located at the right front wing.
The four-door BYD Seagull adopts a four-seater arrangement.
